OMG! Please help me. I'm not sure if it's even the FBI, but maybe someone trying to be the FBI! Okay, so a few weeks back, I wanted to sell my hair on TheHairTrader.com and i got a bid for $120. I said okay. This guy keeps emailing me of whether or not I got the check or not. FORTUNATELY, i haven't. Then I get an email today from someone named Robert Mueller or posing as him, saying
"They have been the only problem in your life since they promise to give you fraudulent money which is fake money and The Transfer of the Estate of Late Engr. Steve Moore valued at $27M . but we are the internet F B I security and combination with E F C C in african .So we need to help you alot now so you will never have any problem and you will be save from scam and fraudulent.
AND HERE IS OUR UNITED STATE F.B.I WEB-SITE FOR YOU TO KNOW THAT WE ARE FOR REAL ONLINE NOT PLAYING GAME WITH YOU ONLINE OKAY.

Is this real??? what if they ask for even more information like my social security number and other personal information! what do I do??? I am freaking out and I don't know if I should trust this email....I'm just a freshman in college, why does this have to happen to me? I just want to know if there's any one that can help, no SCAMMERS please, that can help and figure out if this is the real deal.

OKAy. now that we know that's done with: they're frauds. So, the hair trader person I am waiting for the check is also part of the scam? if he is, I will file a complaint at the internet crime complaint center.

Robert Mueller is the HEAD of the FBI. He is not going to waste his time emailing individuals about money - if you are not the president of a country or a senator, there is NO way you'd have any contact with the head of the FBI.
And somehow I doubt the head of a major government agency is going to have such a poor command of the English language, especially one who has degrees from both Princeton and NYU

The Hair Trader person is part of the scam - they are all the same person. The hair trader buyer, the FBI, the EFCC and any other emails you get.

- Thank you all so much. Everyone had basically the same message but kittysue answered the hair trader part. i don't know if this is a bad thing but i replied and told them that I filed a complaint at the internet crime complaint center and forwarded it to them. they have stopped emailing me.Hopefully
